Personality & Traits
General Overview | Elle Vyyr is exceptionally difficult to pin down. She is one of the few Betazoids that have volunteered for a remarkable experiment by the Trill Symbiosis commission. To see how feasible it was for a Betazoid to join with a Trill symbiont and it is something that has fascinated many on both Trill and Betazed. Elle is one of the first to do so, as most Betazoids would not dream of it. She has been a remarkable success in the program because of the Betazoid’s open and honest nature. She was even more receptive to a Trill symbiont than Trill were, and it is a matter that is controversial on Trill and Betazed. She is very adventurous and eccentric as a person because Vyyr is somewhat an outgoing soul that is very interested in adventure. Both host and symbiont are not just scientists… They are explorers on a grand adventure.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Elle is serious when she absolutely has to be. She is open minded and eccentric, and nearly all of her traits are simultaneously strengths and weaknesses. To her, life is a constant ongoing adventure. She is sometimes vague, and grapples with lifetimes of experiences. She’s prone to spontaneous shifts in her interests at any moment, which makes her quite unpredictable. And she is most certainly a mischievous woman.
Ambitions | Elle is a woman with very simple ambitions, as she has no intention of climbing the ranks of Starfleet Command, and she considers them to be stuffy and dull kill-joys. Neither is she interested in renown as a scientist, and that would require her to give dull speeches to host obnoxious people at parties that serve no purpose other than for egotistical scientists to get drunk. Right now, Elle lives for deeds rather than accomplishments.
Hobbies & Interests | Elle’s hobbies are vast, innumerable, and quite random. |
Personal History | To say Elle Vyyr is eccentric is an understatement. She is the third daughter of Marisonia Sedos, and usually most of the third born of any humanoid race are the ones left to their own interests. This was Elle Vyyr for most of her formative years. Insatiable curiosity removed from the pomp of House Sedos’ affairs, as she was free to chart her own course in life. She started growing quite interested in Starfleet Academy at an early age, since her mother was grooming Venara to become the House Matriarch, and Tira to be married off, Then came the phase where Elle grew into a teenager, and like many teenagers, she wanted her mother’s attention, so she got into trouble. The Matriarch assigned the house steward to deal with her, and her father was too busy with the Matriarch’s pomp and circumstance until Ellie pulled the most blatant stunt she ever pulled as a teenager; she stole a Federation shuttlecraft from the base on Betazed, and she managed to make it out of the atmosphere before her shuttle was intercepted by a Federation Starship. The USS Friedman commanded by Captain Satrine Vyyr. Captain Vyyr took an instant liking to Elle. The young teen had managed to bluff her way onto a Federation Outpost, Acquire command codes for a shuttlecraft, and then steal it right from under the Outpost Commander’s nose. Satrine Vyyr offered young Elle a choice, and it was extortion. She would join Starfleet Academy and put her remarkable skills and intelligence to good use, or she’d turn her over to Starfleet Security. She even went as far as to trade favors with the purpose commander to make it seem like a training exercise. Which it technically was. Elle called Satrine a ‘Conniving Ferengi,’ But Satrine succeeded in getting a promising young woman into Starfleet Academy. To which Satrine smirked and said. ‘You did this for attention, you got it Ms. Sedos.’ Elle excelled at Starfleet Academy, and it offered her a place to be noticed. To be valued. To be respected. She vowed never to set foot into her parents house again. She went through four years at Starfleet Academy. With each year, she never saw her mother. Finally she tried one last time to get her mother to come to her graduation. She sent the House Stewart. Elle was enraged. She pulled off her Sedos signet ring and handed it to the Stewart, and swore by the four goddesses that her mother was a despicable woman. This was a powerful insult in Betazoid society. And suddenly Captain Vyyr grew more into the position of her adoptive mother than her own mother. But still, matters of family are a sensitive topic. Elle became interested in Captain Satrine Vyyr, even learning she was a Joined Trill, and that fascinated Elle. The idea that a Trill would share existence with a symbiont. It entranced her and even fascinated her. She also learned of the idea that Betazods may be more compatible hosts than even humanoid Trill, which interested her even more as she was serving onboard the Friedman. She was about to begin the process of application to the symbiosis commission when Captain Vyyr was injured on a mission involving a territorial dispute between the Talarians and the Acklay. It ended with both sides opening fire, and by this time, the Talarians had upgraded their ships with weapons salvaged from Dominion War battlefields. The doctors needed to transfer Vyyr immediately, as in emergency surgery. Elle Volunteered for this, stating that she may be the only person on the ship Satrine was the most compatible with. The idea and the experiment proved successful even beyond the Symbiosis Commissions hopes. It was a near perfect symbiosis. The newly Joined Betazoid expressed both Symbiont and Host’s personality with seamless perfection. Lieutenant Ellesanna Vyyr was born. |
